Intersurgical was founded in the United Kingdom in 1982 and began with a line of oxygen masks. The company has since grown into a global leader in the development, manufacture, and supply of medical devices for respiratory support. Its product portfolio is divided into four main areas: airway management (including the well-known i-gel laryngeal mask), anesthesia (face masks, ventilator systems, and CO2 absorbers), intensive care (patient interfaces, ventilator systems, and CPAP devices), and oxygen & aerosol therapy (oxygen masks, nebulizers, and humidification systems). In 2021, Intersurgical strengthened its position with the acquisition of Pulmodyne, a company specializing in airway management. Its products are used worldwide in hospitals, emergency care, and home care.
