Water trap

The water trap is a practical accessory frequently used in oxygen therapy that catches and collects condensation from the tubing system. It is easily inserted between the safety tubing and the oxygen nasal cannula or mask. To ensure effective collection of condensation, please make sure the water trap is positioned horizontally. To empty and clean the water trap, first remove it, then open the screw cap on one side. Pour out the collected condensation, clean the water trap and then close the cap again. The water trap can then be reinserted between the oxygen tubes.

A water trap offers significant benefits, especially at warmer room temperatures, such as during the colder months when heating is frequently used. However, even in summer, when the sun warms the room or shines on the tube, the water trap aids your oxygen therapy and ensures the oxygen can flow freely.

Important:

When using a water trap, special attention must be paid to hygiene. Condensate should be removed daily and the water trap cleaned regularly, as standing water promotes the growth of germs. Therefore, remember to replace your nasal cannula or oxygen tubing regularly. Nasal cannulas and extension tubes made of silicone can be cleaned or disinfected.
